Amazon.com Product Description Forget the gimmicks and build a powerful physique with this Everlast multifunction chinning bar--one of the tried-and-true cornerstones of fitness. A chinning bar uses your body's own resistance to create maximum impact where it counts most, such as the pecs, biceps, abs, and obliques. The multifunction bar sets up pretty much anywhere, including in a doorway, against a wall, or on the ground. When installed in the doorway, the chinning bar lets you perform pull-ups and chin-ups, so you can create a strong back and muscular biceps in no time. When on the ground, the bar's comfort grips make pushups more effective than ever, helping you build a strong, defined chest and sculpted triceps. Finally, you can rest the bar against a wall, where it holds your feet for sit-ups and other ab work. And best of all for people who want a versatile workout, the bar offers multiple grip positions that allow you to work muscles from several different angles. A great foundation for any training regimen, the Everlast multifunction chinning bar adjusts to fit doorways up to 32 inches across. Speak with your money - don't buy June 7, 2010 Knute (Sacramento, Ca) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wow, I wish I had come on here and done some research before I bought this junk product. I too got suckered in by the Everlast name. Goes to show.
Over and over again you read about incorrect hardware. Well, I didn't even get the stinking hardware. No where to be found, and on the joke of an instruction sheet it says call if you are missing any hardware, we'll ship it to you free of charge. Don't return to place of purchase. LMAO! You can kiss my hindquarters. This sucker is going right back to the sporting goods store. It would probably take weeks for the hardware to arrive and it would probably be a misfit. Life's too short to fool around with people who don't care.
To my way of thinking if a company doesn't care enough to ensure that all the pieces are in the package, then they have no business being in business.
And the more consumers like you and me speak with our wallets, the more these kinds of yayhoos are going to have to right their ship in order to survive.
What a frustrating experience.
Solid product May 3, 2010 A. L. Merrill This bar is good quality, and has only left minor scuff marks on my door frame. One drawback is that I've found it awkward to do pull-ups (palms facing away from you) on. The U-shaped sections make it difficult to fit my hands in to do this exercise, but it does offer a variety of other holds to use. Overall, a solid product.
Excellent Buy March 30, 2010 Kevin J. Harris (San Dimas, CA) I am very satisfied with this product. It is very versatile and very easy to set up. Assembly was a breeze. Padding is comfortable. I use mine for pull-ups (every variety of pull-up), push-ups (wide, straight, and narrow) and crunches/sit-ups. If you keep up a steady workout, this is the only piece of equipment you need for upper body building. 9 out of 10 because it leaves small scuffs on the wall and it does not fit in ALL doorways. I would suggest the make the load bearing bar extend for wider doorways.
IM RIPPED NOW February 25, 2010 Brian Carpenter OMG IM SO HAPPY W/ PURCHASE HELPS ME GET JACKED/RIPPED IN THE DOORWAY! AND IT WAS CHEAP
Works great but had few imperfections February 22, 2010 ashin220 (ashin220) I weigh 225 lbs and have no problems with this. Only problem I had was that when I got the item, there were a couple of factory defects. One of the pieces was missing a hole for the screw to go in and the traction tape on the wooden back was ripped. I didn't feel like paying addtional fees for shipping so, I drilled a hole into it myself and it works fine.
